PETALING JAYA: Non Government Organization, Sisters in Islam (SIS) has criticize at several PAS Youth over its controversial plans to “check” sinful activities and play the moral police on Valentine’s Day.
Yasmin Masidi the media and communications senior programme officer of Sisters In Islam said moral policing was against Islamic values and fundamental liberties.
She added: “It violates personal dignity and privacy, which is for¬bidden in the Quran and Hadith.”
Miss Yasmin message is a direct hit to the PAS Youth, who planned to look for Muslim couples who celebrated Valentines Day which is coming on this Monday.
PAS Youth chief Nasrudin Hasan At-Tantawi reportedly said that the Pakatan Rakyat state in Kedah, Kelantan and Selangor had directed the local authorities to work closely with the police and Rela to check on immoral activities that day.
Nasrudin also said that the operation of this movement would preach and distribute flyers promoting a sin-free lifestyle at lovers’ hotspots in every state.
In a respond to the PAS youth, Yasmin lashes back with a question to PAS by saying why the wing was spending so much time and energy on such a petty issue, pointing out that Islam was much more than about how Muslims celebrated Valentine’s Day.
SIS urged PAS to focus on real issues affecting Muslim women such as backlog of cases in the Syariah courts.
In my opinion, PAS should stop living in the past and move on in this modern society. They should concentrate on bigger things.

Torres for 50 Million Pound

LONDON- Yesterday,31st January few minutes before the transfer football deadline ends, Spanish International striker made a controversial move to London’s own Chelsea from Liverpool.
The Spanish striker signed a five years deal with the West London club for an undisclosed fee reported to be £50 million, which set a new record for a British transfer and made him the fourth most expensive footballer in history.
"This is the target for every footballer - to try to play for one of the top clubs in the world," said the 26 years old.
"They [Chelsea] are one of the biggest teams in Europe and are always fighting for everything."
Liverpool looked to plug the gap left by Torres leaving by signing two strikers - Uruguayan Luis Suarez from Ajax for £22.7m and Andy Carroll from Newcastle for £35m.
Chelsea also brought in Benfica defender David Luiz for a reported fee of £21.3m.
Despite Liverpool get two extra talented strikers, it still manage to angered of some of the Liverpool die hard fans, especially the one who idolise Torres. Some of the Torres fans , burn the number nine Liverpool jersey with his name on it.
Manager Kenny Dalglish reaction towards Torres move was: "Movement is part and parcel of football but the most important people at Liverpool Football Club are the ones who want to be here."
Well in my opinion, player comes, player go but the way Torres talk about Liverpool when he is at Chelsea, it shows that he doesn’t have any heart..

Malaysian Students In Egypt

CAIRO- Since, the situation at Egypt is getting more worst, some of the Malaysian who studied are forced to move out of Egypt for safety reasons. The students have been evacuated from Egypt to Jeddah by the Malaysianl government. Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom the Minister from the Prime Minister's Department said the evacuation will be at no cost.
There were rumours that the student will be charged for the movement of the evacuation but the government said it’s not true and they will handle their all of their necessity in Jeddah.
Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom said that the government also arranged the process of issuing passports and visas for the students free-of-charge and paid their airport tax.
All of the students were flown to Jeddah with the help of Malaysian Airlines (MAS), Air Asia, and the Royal Malaysian Air Force planes.
About 3,000 Malaysian students are expected to be flown from Cairo to Jeddah Friday. there would be 12 flights to Jeddah Friday involving three C-130 aircraft belonging to the Malaysian Royal Air Force and two aircraft operated by Malaysia Airlines and AirAsia.
The reason why the evacuation happens is because of the current protest against the Egypt’s Prime Minister Hosni Mubarak who decided to stay as Prime Minister for at least 30 years till now.

Domodedovo Airport Bombing

MOSCOW- Recently at Moscow’s Domodedovo airport, there was a bomb explosion which leads to 35 civilians dead and injuring 150 civilians. They suspect it might be the work of a suicide bomber.
Ominously, this attack was the first aimed at a location where foreigners as well as Russians were present in large numbers.
Previous civilian targets include planes blown up mid-air, trains, apartment buildings in Moscow and other cities, a hospital, several Metro stations, a theatre, and - in the most notorious and certainly the bloodiest case of all - a primary school in the southern Russian town of Beslan.
Boris Nemtsov of the opposition leader have attacked Russian authorities for their apparent inability to curtail the risk of terrorism.
The opposition leader wrote in his blog that "the battle against terrorism is clearly not among (Prime Minister Vladimir) Putin's priorities, unless, of course, we discount his daily demagoguery on the subject".
That accusation is likely to sting Mr Putin, should he read it.
Although no group has claimed responsibility for the attack, the greatest challenge to Russia's national security and the severest threats from radical groups and Islamist organisations come from the North Caucasus.
Islamist groups became active between the first and second Chechen wars, from 1994 to 1999, when the Russian presence in Chechnya was virtually ended and the republic descended into lawlessness.

Tenang Election

TENANG- After a whole long of preparation , the Tenang,Johor elction was held yesterday and the results has just announce . Informal results from the 12 polling districts show that Barisan Nasional (BN) has retained the Tenang state seat.
The result of the Tenang election was posted on Twitter with the status which said that Barisan Nasional’s representative Azhar Ibrahim defeated Pakatan Rakyat’s Pas representative Normala Sudirman in the UMNO area. Azhar got 6,698 votes while Normala got 2,693 votes.
Some of the Pakatan Rakyat members update their Twitter by saying that Azhar won the election.
Around of 10,579 out of 14,753people or in other words 71.7 % take part in the election despite it was raining heavily.
In this election, Barisan Nasional targeted a victory margin of 5,000 votes. It retained Tenang in 2008 by 2,491 votes, half the majority obtained in 2004.
The time to vote for the election began from 8 am till 5pm. Even thought it was raining and flooding the election between Barisan Nasional’s (BN) Azhar Ibrahim and PAS candidate Normala Sudirman. was still on.
The reason of this Tenang election happen is because that its previous representative for Tenang, Datuk Sulaiman Taha , passed away on 17 December cause by his diabetics problem. In the 2008 elections, Datuk Sulaiman Taha won the seat against PAS’s Mohd Saim Siran with a majority of 2,492 votes.
