TENANG- After a whole long of preparation , the Tenang,Johor elction was held yesterday and the results has just announce . Informal results from the 12 polling districts show that Barisan Nasional (BN) has retained the Tenang state seat.
The result of the Tenang election was posted on Twitter with the status which said that Barisan Nasional’s representative Azhar Ibrahim defeated Pakatan Rakyat’s Pas representative Normala Sudirman in the UMNO area. Azhar got 6,698 votes while Normala got 2,693 votes.
Some of the Pakatan Rakyat members update their Twitter by saying that Azhar won the election.
Around of 10,579 out of 14,753people or in other words 71.7 % take part in the election despite it was raining heavily.
In this election, Barisan Nasional targeted a victory margin of 5,000 votes. It retained Tenang in 2008 by 2,491 votes, half the majority obtained in 2004.
The time to vote for the election began from 8 am till 5pm. Even thought it was raining and flooding the election between Barisan Nasional’s (BN) Azhar Ibrahim and PAS candidate Normala Sudirman. was still on.
The reason of this Tenang election happen is because that its previous representative for Tenang, Datuk Sulaiman Taha , passed away on 17 December cause by his diabetics problem. In the 2008 elections, Datuk Sulaiman Taha won the seat against PAS’s Mohd Saim Siran with a majority of 2,492 votes.
