Malaysian Students In Egypt

CAIRO- Since, the situation at Egypt is getting more worst, some of the Malaysian who studied are forced to move out of Egypt for safety reasons. The students have been evacuated from Egypt to Jeddah by the Malaysianl government. Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom the Minister from the Prime Minister's Department said the evacuation will be at no cost.

There were rumours that the student will be charged for the movement of the evacuation but the government said it’s not true and they will handle their all of their necessity in Jeddah.

Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom said that the government also arranged the process of issuing passports and visas for the students free-of-charge and paid their airport tax.

All of the students were flown to Jeddah with the help of Malaysian Airlines (MAS), Air Asia, and the Royal Malaysian Air Force planes.

About 3,000 Malaysian students are expected to be flown from Cairo to Jeddah Friday. there would be 12 flights to Jeddah Friday involving three C-130 aircraft belonging to the Malaysian Royal Air Force and two aircraft operated by Malaysia Airlines and AirAsia.

The reason why the evacuation happens is because of the current protest against the Egypt’s Prime Minister Hosni Mubarak who decided to stay as Prime Minister for at least 30 years till now.
